Amber Halliday

17/12/2010 FEATURES: Sunday Mail newspaper columnist Amber Halliday.Amber Halliday is a three-time world champion and Olympic rower who is currently completing her PhD in psychology.

Amber, a former journalist, competed at the Olympic Games in Athens and Beijing. She converted to cycling after Beijing where she soon won the 2009 Women’s Tour of New Zealand and the Time Trial at the 2010 Australian National Road Championships.

On 17 January 2011, Amber sustained a severe traumatic brain injury in a cycling race at Victoria Park Racecourse, Adelaide. Her recovery her recovery was documented by the Australian Broadcasting Commission’s program, Contact Sport, in September 2011.

Amber is a native of Adelaide, South Australia and lives with partner Mello and their son Monty.
