Silent Auction
Along with our raffle, we have some very unique silent auction items at the dinner. Would you like you or your companies name to be on a rowing boat about to cross the Atlantic Ocean or on the jersey of a man about to race across America by bike?
We will have a silent auction to give you your chance to be part of these epic adventures.
Race Across America
Our milti-media man Rupert Guinness, journalist and adventure cyclist, will be racing across America next year on his bike. You can bid to gain a prominent spot on his jersey or shorts in this world famous, televised event.
The RAAM is one of the most challenging ultra-endurance bicycle races. Now 36 years old, it
pushes entrants to their physical and psychological limits on a 3,000 mile (4,900km) route
from the west to east coasts – from Oceanside, California and to Annapolis, Maryland.
The RAAM route includes 175,000 feel of climbing, and crosses 12 states, the Sierra, Rockies
and Appalachian Mountains; the Colorado, Mississippi, Missouri and Ohio Rivers, and Great
Plains; and the Mojave and Sonoran Deserts, Monument Valley and Gettysburg. All cyclists,
as solo riders or in teams, are all followed by support crews and must reach check points by certain times and finish in 12 days.
Atlantic Rowing Race
Four Bondi Boys will be racing across the Atlantic Ocean in their rowing boat in December. You can bid to have your name or company on the side of their boat and join them in the adventure from the Canary Islands to Antigua!
The Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge brings together teams from all walks of life united by the same objective: to take on the unique challenge of crossing an ocean in a rowing boat. The atmosphere is electric as people help each other prepare for the challenge of the mighty Atlantic Ocean. Teams battle with sleep deprivation, salt sores, and physical extremes inflicted by the race. Rowers are left with their own thoughts, an expanse of the ocean and the job of getting the boat safely to the other side.
